I’m part of a group that volunteers in our area and we all know the benefits that taking action in the local community can bring.
As well as making a difference to others' lives, you socialise and make new friends when you’re volunteering and we think it’s something that more people should consider doing.
Whether it’s cleaning graffiti, helping at a food bank or litter picking, there are plenty of options available for those wanting to volunteer.
We hope our campaign will inspire others to step up, make a difference and become their own community superhero.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Scott Tandy, Newydd Housing Association
Scott has supported us throughout our Fix by setting up meetings and helping us with research.
Christine Davies from Interlink supports our Fixers project. She agreed to be interviewed to appear in our TV film.
We launched our Fixers film at Newydd Housing Association and have received positive feedback. You can read some of the comments below.
'The film was really cool. It was like The Avengers or something.'
‘It made volunteering look cool.’
‘I want to volunteer when I am old enough.’
‘I already volunteer and it has helped me meet lots of new people and get involved in other things in my community.'
Alan Evans, Senior Housing Officer - Newydd Housing
‘Fantastic video, I think that's the best one yet. The music is really powerful and it does make you sit up and think.’
Jennifer Clasper, Development Officer - Newydd Housing
'Just watched the Fixers video and it’s fab! Such a good idea to do it in that style. It really brings home the message.’
Me and my friends want young people to know that calories aren't the enemy!
