Campaign: | To encourage men who are experiencing domestic abuse to seek help |
I always thought of domestic violence as being something that affected women.
But a few years ago, a man I know experienced an unhealthy relationship. Even though he managed to leave, it was hard to see him go through this.
I realised that young people are relatively new to relationships, so they might not be able to spot when their partner is becoming abusive.
I want to give young men a voice, letting them know it’s okay to speak out as there are organisations out there that can help.
With Fixers, I want to highlight that domestic violence can happen to men as well as women.
If young people are aware of the warning signs, they can look out for themselves and their friends.
