I live with chronic cluster headaches.
It’s a condition that can be unpredictable and I feel it could be better understood by medical professionals.
I have been dismissed for being a hypochondriac and misdiagnosed despite experiencing debilitating pain.
With Fixers, I want to raise awareness of the disorder so that others who are experiencing it can get a diagnosis and treatment more quickly.
I want to show that just a little understanding can help a patient to cope with what can be a lifelong condition.* NOTE: Fixers sometimes go beyond the 16-25 year age bracket while working on their Fix.
The Cluster Headache Support Group
The CHSG support my Fix. The team have provided information to help with my campaign and they’ve expressed an interest in my finished project.
The team at OUCH UK have provided me with support with my condition and are keen to share my finished film.
April 2015My Fixers film was shown to a group of young people at Wrexham College, who offered the following positive feedback:
‘I thought it was good and got to the point. I felt the pain as the film was playing.’
‘I thought the video was very good and informative. It really shows the pain you go through. I didn’t know the illness existed, but I do now.’
‘I am now aware of cluster headaches and think more should be done to resolve this painful condition.’
