Campaign: | To challenge the stigma attached to mental health issues |
During my third year at university, I began to smoke cannabis as a way of dealing with the stress I was under.
Initially, I felt it helped relieve the pressure and allowed me to escape reality, but things soon changed.
I became paranoid and had hallucinations, before being diagnosed with psychosis two years ago.
People reacted to me with anxiety and fear and some of my friends stopped contacting me.
With Fixers, I want to improve understanding of mental health issues.
Hopefully I can challenge the stigma attached to conditions like mine, so others can feel able to get the help they need.
James Wooldridge, South West Regional Coordinator, supports my Fix. He agreed to be interviewed to appear in my broadcast item.
NHS
The NHS Specialist Team for Early Psychosis are backing my project. My support worker is going to help share my Fixers film and broadcast piece, to further spread my message.
