Campaign: To encourage employers to give those with learning difficulties a chance

People with learning difficulties can often feel isolated and undervalued, especially when it comes to employment.

In my spare time, I volunteer at a cafe supporting those with special needs as they learn to work in the service sector.

I see how much potential the workers there have and it would be great if others could appreciate that too.

With the help of my team, I’m working on a Fixers campaign to encourage employers to give people with learning difficulties a chance in the workplace.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Aiden Campbell

Aine Owens

Alan Thompson

Curtis Stewart

Kelli McCann

Lynne Shaw

Mark Forsythe

Nicola Hughes

Orlagh O'Hagan

Superstars Coffee Dock

May McAvoy is the founder of Superstars and supported the project by providing an interview for the broadcast piece.

Thanks also to staff at Ground Espresso Bars, Cuppatinos, Subway, McDonalds and ASDA who either agreed to appear in our broadcast piece or provided information to support our Fixers project.
