Campaign: | To promote respect among people of all backgrounds |
I recently had the opportunity to visit Auschwitz in Poland.
Mindful of the horrific events that occurred at this former Nazi concentration camp, I began to think about how human beings could do this to one another.
It upsets me to see that discrimination is still prevalent in society today.
With Fixers, my team and I want to educate people about the history of genocide, as we believe that learning about it is the first small step to stopping it happening.
We hope our campaign will encourage people to accept each other, without discriminating based on religion, ethnicity, race or nationality.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Courtney Fishwick | Elizabeth Woodhall |
Ellie Bartholomew | Ellie Hunter |
Jake Hornsey | Kate Kenny |
Lisa Davison | Lisa Lynas |
Oliver Pinsent | Zoey-Anne Musselwhite |
Stephanie Stokle |
Hartlepool Borough Council support our Fix. We’re members of a Holocaust Memorial Group run by youth workers Sarah McCluskey and Derek Minton. They’ve helped us with our project.
Thanks to Lois Joynt and Caitlin Lloyd, who’ve worked with us on this campaign.
February 2015
To mark Holocaust Memorial Day, my team and I held an event on Tuesday 27th January at the Masonic Hall in Hartlepool. After screening our Fixers film to an audience of friends, family, councillors and war veterans, we were delighted with the response. You can read some of the comments we received and see a photo from the event below.
