Name: Sanya Rajpal
Age: 19
Year of the Fix: 2015
Location: Bristol
Campaign: To make young people aware of their rights during a police stop and search

It's my view that relations between young people and the police aren’t always positive, particularly when it involves stop and search.

Others my age might not know their legal rights in this situation, and can be left feeling victimised as a result.

Although a vital part of keeping communities safe, my team and I believe that young people can be targeted in stop and searches, without always understanding why.

With Fixers, we’re helping to create a film to educate young people about the process, so they’re aware of how they should be treated.

We hope that by giving them this information we can ensure that young people are questionned fairly, meaning they’re more likely to engage positively when approached by police.
