My team and I believe mental health conditions aren’t always taken as seriously as physical illnesses.
We’re worried that this will deter those living with things like depression from asking for help.
Too often people use the term ‘depressing’ flippantly – to describe the weather, for example, and this can have an effect on those experiencing the illness.
Anyone with a mental health concern should be supported and encouraged to speak to someone.
It’s not something that should be taken lightly.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Sally Harris, Child Protection Officer, Hardenhuish School
Sally Harris supports our Fixers project. She agreed to be interviewed to appear in our broadcast piece.
We were given the opportunity to meet with the Minister for Care and Support, Norman Lamb, to tell him about our campaign.
The meeting took place in Chippenham on Friday 6th February - we presented our Fix and discussed issues surrounding mental health. To see what Norman Lamb had to say about the work we've done with Fixers, watch the video below.
