Campaign: To encourage young people to take an interest in music

I believe that music has the power to unite people.

Picking up an instrument and learning to play – or learning to sing – can serve as a common interest that brings people together.

But that isn’t its only benefit. Music is also fun and expressive and it can improve a person’s confidence and focus.

I think it’s important that young people understand the positive impact music can have, and use it to their advantage.

If I hadn’t become interested in music at the age of 16, I wouldn’t still be in education. I enrolled on a music course at college.

With Fixers and the rest of my team, I’ve been working on a film that features a number of different musicians. They speak about their passion for music and explain how it’s made a difference to their lives.

I hope to inspire young people to try learning an instrument, or try learning to sing, to see what they can achieve.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Adam Kornas Charlotte Perkins
Harry Sutcliffe Joseph Wallwork
Laura Sharley Liam Callacher
Rick Isaac Riyad Husain
Sami Haider Tayo Weeks

Nigel Richards, Musician
Nigel Richards supports my project. He appears in my Fixers film giving his views on music and its benefits.
