Campaign: | To encourage young people to take an interest in music |
I believe that music has the power to unite people.
Picking up an instrument and learning to play – or learning to sing – can serve as a common interest that brings people together.
But that isn’t its only benefit. Music is also fun and expressive and it can improve a person’s confidence and focus.
I think it’s important that young people understand the positive impact music can have, and use it to their advantage.
If I hadn’t become interested in music at the age of 16, I wouldn’t still be in education. I enrolled on a music course at college.
With Fixers and the rest of my team, I’ve been working on a film that features a number of different musicians. They speak about their passion for music and explain how it’s made a difference to their lives.
I hope to inspire young people to try learning an instrument, or try learning to sing, to see what they can achieve.
