Campaign: | To help primary school children feel less worried about going to secondary school |
It’s normal for primary school pupils to feel anxious before their first day at secondary school.
They might not get much sleep the night before, worrying about everything from how to catch the school bus to whether they’ll know anyone when they get there.
I’m in the sixth form at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen in Machynlleth and still remember what my first day at secondary school was like.
With Fixers, and some of my classmates, I want to help make the transition between schools seem less daunting for Year 6 pupils going into Year 7.
We’re working on a resource that we hope will answer some of their questions, helping them to feel less scared and lost in the process.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Ffion Newton
Robert Buchan-Terrey
Lowri Faber
Holly Hughes
Brenda Davies
Ysgol Bro Hyddgen, Machynlleth
The team at our school have supported our Fix and Catrin Hughes, Head of Year 7, agreed to be interviewed to appear in our broadcast piece.
