Campaign: To show decision-makers the importance of youth services

I was 13 when I first came across the youth service in Bradford. It’s seen by many as a crucial lifeline, a chance to meet new people and a way to learn new skills.

 

Sadly, as in the rest of the country, funding for these services is being cut.

 

Despite our successful campaign to reduce the 80 per cent cuts originally proposed by Bradford City Council last year, to 36 per cent, we still think it’s a huge loss.

 

The youth service is something that young people care greatly about, as we know how life changing this provision can be. 

 

Therefore, with Fixers, we’ve helped to create a film urging decision-makers to consider the impact of their actions.

 

I’ve had a really good upbringing and if it’s changed my life so much, think about what the youth service means to those who’ve got absolutely nothing!
