I used to be a professional footballer, playing for Millwall. But after collapsing on the pitch I was diagnosed with a serious heart condition, which meant the end of my career. This was devastating, but I now want to turn a negative experience into something positive. With Fixers, I'm highlighting the tell-tale signs of potential cardiac problems, encouraging people to look out for underlying issues that could be flagged up by routine tests. Hopefully my campaign will prove to people that getting screened can save your life.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:
St Thomas' HospitalDr Gerry Carr-White, Consultant Cardiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, supports my Fixers project. He agreed to be interviewed to appear in my broadcast piece.Millwall FCAndy Ambler, CEO at Millwall FC, supports my campaign. He also speaks in my broadcast about the benefits of screening.
In February 2014, I founded the Heart4More Foundation to raise awareness of cardiac related issues. The Foundation supports my Fix and I plan to use my film as part of my larger campaign.
