According to the NSPCC, 1 in 20 children have been sexually abused – it’s something that is happening more than people like to think about.
I feel particularly strongly about this issue and believe we all have a part to play in putting a stop to it.
With Fixers, I’m launching a campaign to encourage anyone who suspects a child may be at risk of sexual abuse to speak up about it.
They may be the only hope that child has.
I also want children experiencing abuse to know that it isn’t their fault and there are people who can help them.
I don’t want them to feel alone or to be afraid to tell someone they trust.
