Ernest

Name: Ernest Gunar
Age: 16
Year of the Fix: 2014
Location: Folkestone, Kent
Campaign: To encourage young people to respect each other

It’s my view that young people can be quick to judge each other and don’t always show one another respect.

The result of this can be racism and crime and I believe that the barriers between different groups of young people need to be broken down.

With Fixers, my team and I are creating a music video to go with a song we’re working on.

We hope it will help change opinions and bring everyone in the community together.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:

Ben Scally Bradley Booth
Chris Walker Ciaran Hill
Ciaran O'Donnell Daniel Tomas
Dylen Grajcar Erik Cisar
George Holmes Jodie Melville
Joshua Taylor Luke Howell-Burne
Luke Stokes Matthew Cole
Natasha Sleeman Samir Juniku
Susie Scott

Youth Social Action Fund

My Fixers project is supported by the Cabinet Office’s Youth Social Action Fund.

As part of the Cabinet Office initiative ‘Step Up to Serve’, which is spearheaded by HRH the Prince of Wales, Fixers is working in partnership with the Youth Social Action Fund (YSAF) to offer the Fixer experience specifically to young people aged between 16 and 20 in Birmingham and parts of Kent.

Larp Music
Jim Hustwit, a composer, musician and songwriter at Larp Music, is supporting our Fix. He’s the musical director and producer of our track.

Raw Material
Potent Whisper, a youth arts tutor working with Raw Material, has supported our project. He ran a workshop for us on songwriting and performance.

Shepway District Council

Emily Ghassempour, Community Projects Officer on the Policy and Engagement Team at the local authority, is backing our Fix. She’s working with a partnership to develop Payers Park – a new green space in Folkestone town centre. We hope to be able to perform our song at the park’s launch.
